The Big 2-5 (or The Insurance Will Go Down)

My birthday used to be a HUGE deal for me. I would spend months (literally) planning my big day and what exactly I wanted to do and of course, making lists of things. I still like to make lists and my family still spoils me by going out to dinner and paying for it, but my as I have gotten older, but birthday is not the exciting event it once was. This is due to several reasons, the main one being that my birthday is the anniversary of some mistakes I made in my past, which shall not be blogged about! Some things must remain private in this crazy Internet information driven world. The second reason that I CAN talk about is that I am very much afraid of getting older. Who wants to be an old fogie? Already I can tell that I am a generation ahead of my younger cousins, who read Junie B. Jones, are up on the latest cell phones, and know all the "cool" songs immediately. They are not aware of the Baby Sitter's Club, slap bracelets, Fraggle Rock, or NKOTB (even though they may become aware since they are making a comeback - rock on!). They still think I'm cool, but sometimes I believe they are just patronizing me.
ANYWAY - the only two wonderful things about turning 25 for me are - I am getting married when I am 25 and MY INSURANCE WILL GO DOWN. I never thought that was such a reason to celebrate until now - paying $135 a month in car insurance (yes, I've had many a wreck) will be no more! So buy me a cake on June 9, sing me a song, because I will have an extra couple of bucks every month!
