The Boarding of the Dogs

When your two dogs are like your children and you go on vacation, you have one of three options:

1. Beg, plead, and possibly BLACKMAIL a friend or family member into letting them be overnight guests,

2. Pay someone copious amounts of money to come to your home and feed them, making them absolutely stir crazy and guaranteeing that your mouldings will be no more upon your return home, or

3. Pay enormous sums of money to send your beloved pups to "Doggy Day Camp" and have them sleep in rooms where they are referred to as "suitees." Yes, that term is real. And its cutesy factor is UP there.

Guess which option we chose?

Yes, on Thursday morning, our precious Jake and Lucy will be temporary residents at Creature Comforts . This is not anything new for Jake - he spent a week at Camp Bow Wow when hubby and I went on our honeymoon last September. And he loved every minute of it. Seriously, when he got home, he collapsed and did not move for two days he was so worn out by all the doggy socialization. The cool thing about Camp Bow Wow is that you can log in and see your dog in action in real time via webcam. Cool, huh? And in this world, you pay for coolness, to the tune of $72 per day to overnight two dogs. A night at the Four Seasons it's not, but come on. Creature Comforts is still outrageous ($57 a night), but we're saving close to $20 per day and yeah, I can do the math. That's a nice 'lil shopping trip at the Maxx that I can treat myself to in the near future.

From Bubbles and Biscuits where you can have your doggie groomed by the pros or do it yourself (it's actually not idea when you have a dog the size of a small horse like we do) to Camp Bow Wow's live feed, there is not much that owners won't do for their pet. Which is good because an unhappy dog equals unhappy mouldings.
