Big Time Birthday!

Wow, what a weekend. First of all, happy belated Easter! We had a great church service with wonderful music and a reflection of the greatest moment in history. Chad and I got to see our family a lot this weekend, which is always a good thing - well, not always, because you know how families are, but this weekend it was a good thing.

My best friend, Chelle, also turned 30 yesterday and on Friday night we had a slumber party that included champagne, chocolate cake from Couture Cakes, and some fun jazzercise moves. Gotta keep in shape, even with voracious cake eating! We did NOT end up going out and about (all that stressing for nothing), but I did wear my cute outfit over to her house - I'm not letting my thriftiness go to waste. And Chelle definitely thought that the top looked like a White House Black Market find. I delighted in telling her it was $14.99. Again, I am turning into my mother.

The weather wasn't in our favor, so I opted out of the cute non-WHBM outfit into my PJ's - better to eat cheese pizza and cake in! Luckily, we are the kind of friends who can easily amuse ourselves, so staying in didn't ruin our lives or anything. Honestly, we probably had a better time being goofy at home.

Her actual birthday was yesterday and we became "ladies who luncheon" and had a spa day - well hour - at Urban Nirvana. BLISS, I tell ya! Facials are my guilty pleasure and my skin is glowing. It freakin' better be, after an $80 facial. Please note that I am able to get a facial once a year if I'm lucky.

I just have to say that I am so thankful for Michelle and for great friends in general. Yes, I have my wonderful husband whom I adore, but ya'll, a girl has got to have her friends. I have seen women get into relationships and completely forget about her buddies, which is a shame because your girlfriends provide support and wisdom that a man just can't. And the same goes for our guy's friends - they have relationships that we just don't get, but think about how lost our men would be without someone to burp over a beer with.

Today = tired from a great weekend and oh so thankful for the blessings in my life!
