On the Road Again

So I am about to walk out the door, well as soon as hubby gets home, to head down to the Carolina Coast. All the packing is done, the money is in our account, and the doggies have been dropped off for a fun filled weekend away from Mom and Dad. For the first time in a long time, it will just be a human filled few days. I dropped them off earlier this morning and I have to say this:

I miss my dogs.

For all their neurotic, destructive, nonsensical behavior, they make our house a home. And it's been lonely today without them. I haven't had a couple of wiggling cuddlers to nap with, or to yell at, or to just be with. Yes, things have stayed clean and I haven't had to chase a four legged creature around to retrieve sock, Q-tips, or whatever else they found, but it's just not the same without them.

I am looking forward to spending some time down by the water, hopefully a few minutes just to myself. There is something so beautiful about South Carolina's beaches. And yes, I have seen the Pacific Ocean, Waikiki Beach, and the Carribbean seas. But I am a Carolina girl and there is no place I'd rather be. And it would be just perfect if my doggies were with me.

Ya'll have a good weekend.

Ooooooh, I am sooooooo envious. I lived in Columbia for a while and went to the coast all the time!
