Well, the first Butler yard sale has come and gone and I am happy to say that we made about $200! It's not exactly the amount I was hoping for, but hey, it's $200 more than we had starting out. We still have the entertainment center and I am hoping to get it up online at some point this week so if someone wants it, PLEASE OFFER - every offer will be considered. Our goal is to make money to buy a flat screen TV for our living room, but we are still a ways off from the prize. Oh well, maybe Santa will be good to us this year!
Last night we settled in at Chad's sister's for a Sunday night movie and watched "Facing the Giants." I have seen this movie before and LOVED it, not necessarily for Academy Award winning acting, but it's real and shows how God can move in people's lives when they put Him first and "prepare for rain." If you haven't seen this movie and need one that is family friendly, get it. Seriously. It moved all of us (even the ones who had seen it before) to tears.
Which brings me to my next topic - the new movie by the same church that did "Facing the Giants" - "Fireproof." We are all planning on going to see it, hopefully this week, and I did some research on it this morning. The trailer alone was enough to make me want to Fandango the tickets, but there is a book they use in the movie called "The Love Dare" which is currently #37 on the NY Times Bestseller Top 100. It's a 40 day journey you take with your spouse and I think Chad and I (even though we are newlyweds) are going to try it out. It's all based on biblical teachings and I think that it's going to change our relationship and our lives - SO excited to purchase it and I'm probably going to be giving it away as Christmas gifts if we enjoy it.
If any married couples out there are using this tool in their marriage, please let me know!
