So it's 2009, a new year, a new attitude and all that jazz. I know that I've already broken one of my New Year's resolutions (no McDonald's), but hey, at least I made them right? So the following are a list of what I aim to do in 2009, in no particular order:
1. Lose weight/be healthy - I am not setting a weight number goal, but I am setting a size goal - as in, I want to be a size 6-8 like I used to be. Actually, I USED to be a size 4-6, but I'm not 20 years old anymore.
2. Run in the half marathon on Kiawah Island in December 2009. I have always been fascinated by running. I can't really figure out WHY I think that sweating profusely and pushing my body to the limit would be fun, but I REALLY REALLY want to conquer my couch potato-ness and be somewhat of an athlete. For the first time in my life.
3. Be a regular church goer and BE INVOLVED. We have made it through the first Sunday and we were even on time!!! Holla! AND we are signing up for small group, which is the first step to being active at Brookwood. Small group starts next Sunday. I sent an "I'm interested in being in your small group" email this morning. Talk about being on top of things!
4. No charging things on credit cards. This is going to be a beast. Because, also included in this resolution is to pay down AMAP (as much as possible) on our credit card debt. Which means no extra treats, like my daily Starbucks addiction. Folgers it will be. Boo. Perhaps I can fit Starbucks in at least once a week? Or if anyone out there wants to bring me my daily ventinonfat6pumpvanillalatte?
5. Save money! YAAAY!!! This is also going to be an incredibly hard one. BUT we have opened a savings account and put the majority of our Christmas money in it AND we haven't touched it yet! IT'S BEEN ALMOST 2 WEEKS - a record!
So cheers to all of you! 2008 is past and the best is yet to come. I will be "lookin' fine in 2009" - and you can quote me!

I'm in a small group at Brookwood of young out of college age married couples mostly. There are other folks there as well, but just saw you guys were interested in joining one and my wife and I go and several other folks as well. It's every other Saturday at the Wolvertons. If you want to get in contact I think my info is on my webpage or of some sort. Either way hope you guys get plugged in somewhere and would love for it to be in our group. Most of us average mid twenties.
Josh,
Thanks so much! I didn't really think anyone read this blog, to be honest...I just like to write and this is an easy way to get out my thoughts! :) We definitely want to be plugged in; however, it's looking like Sundays are going to have to be our time to do it. I emailed Aaron Frazier, but haven't heard anything back from him. Anyway, thank you for letting me know. Hope you have a great day,
Kelley
