Moneymoneymoneymoney...MONEY!

Because I am such a nerd, I really really like talk radio - conservative talk radio that is. Namely, News Radio WORD 106.3 FM on your dial. I've actually gotten my husband into it, too, which he took to a whole new level this morning when he called me on my way to work at 7:21 am. I didn't see that he called until AFTER I got to work, so fearing a wreck or flat tire, I called him back immediately asking what was wrong. He began ranting and raving about some stupid caller and honestly kept up this verbage for a good five minutes until I told him that I really needed to go and check some email. YEEAAHHH...not that I haven't had my own rantings and ravings, but at 7:30 in the a.m.? Really?

Back to the point of this email...Dave Ramsey is now on WORD at 6:00pm with his own show and since I've been working late hours these days, I get to catch it on my way home from work and I can seriously say that I may have a little crush on him. I've been aware of his program, Fiancial Peace, for years, and several times have almost attempted to try it out and get clear of credit card debt and then the new J.Crew catalogue would come in and ruin my plans.

Now that I am married and we live in the cutest miniature house in the USA, my need for a bigger bathroom/closet/space in general has overcome my love for J.Crew and it's overpriced merchandise and Chad and I have started the total money makeover (at http://www.mytotalmoneymakeover.com/). We finished our February budget last night (because, I mean, you can't really DO a budget in the middle of a month) and we also did our debt snowball. And we will be OUT OF DEBT in August 2011. I know that seems like a really long time, but I really did a lot of shopping at J.Crew and that includes both our car payments, too. THIS IS HUGE. In only 2 years (according to 'ole Dave and his genius computer software), we should be able to be completely debt free (except for our mortgage) and able to move into a bigger house and possibly start procreating. SUPER!

So anyway, if you are thinking of doing a budget (yes, I know, the very word leaves a bad taste in this shopaholic's mouth), this website makes it really easy and doable. And it gives you an end date in sight. I'll let you know how it goes, but really, the bigger house is calling my name. I'm planning on sticking with it.
