The Leaves They Are A Fallin'

I love fall. I love everything about it and I especially love fall at our house. Now, by the time March rolls around, I will be expounding on my love of Spring, which is true, but right now I'm in a fall state of mind.
This weekend Chad and I continued to clean up after our wedding (which is funny because the ceremony and reception were nowhere near our house, but our house and yard are disaster areas anyway), and I brought down the winter clothes to be taken out of storage. I cleaned closets, dusted, and prepared for a yard sale. It was so boring, so grown up, and so satisfying! My house finally feels (almost) ready to meet the new season and all the excitement coming up...Halloween (yes, my decorations are out and we will be getting pumpkins this weekend), Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. As I was "piddling" around the house, I had "Sex & the City - The Movie" on in the background and there is a part in the movie that has a beautiful version of"Auld Lang Syne" by Mairie Campbell and Dave Francis. I know it's too early for holiday favorites, but this song is one of those that touches my inner being for some reason, no matter what the season. I guess it's this time of year and the turning of the seasons...the end of one chapter and the beginning of another...it's bittersweet and exciting...kind of like the smell of fall.
